A native of Albany, New York, bass Michael Galvin has garnered a reputation as “distinguished and disarming” young singer (Rochester City Newspaper). Recent operatic credits include Zoroastro (Orlando; Boston Early Music Festival Young Artist Program), Leporello (Don Giovanni; Eastman Opera Theatre), Simone (Gianni Schicchi; Si Parla, Si Canta), Seneca (L’incoronazione di Poppea; EOT). While completing his graduate studies, Michael performed with the Eastman Collegium Musicum in presentations of Fairy Queen, King Arthur, and L’Orfeo (Rossi). He also was a featured soloist with the Eastman Bach Cantata Series (BWV 11, 26, 62). In 2019, Michael premiered a composition by Eastman distinguished professor Benton Hess. Michael holds a Master of Music in Voice from the Eastman School of Music (2019) and a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Ithaca College (2017), where he graduated magna cum laude.
