Mezzo-soprano Andrea McGaugh is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Andrea frequently sings with Rochester-based choirs Voices, First Inversion, and Musica Spei, and has been a featured soloist with the Eastman Repertory Singers, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Lake Placid Sinfonietta, and SouthEastern Young Artists in Gainesville, Georgia. Operatic performances include Our Town (Mrs. Gibbs), The Old Maid and the Thief (Miss Todd), and She Loves Me (Ilona Ritter) with Eastman Opera Theatre, The Magic Flute (Third Lady) and Così fan tutte (Dorabella) with Geneva Light Opera, Alcina (Ruggiero) with the Rochester Baroque Vocal Consort, SiHyun Uhm’s mini-opera Sammy & Remmy (Hunter 2) at Eastman, and Howard Hanson’s Merry Mount (Desire Annabel) with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. Andrea will return to Eastman Opera Theatre this April as Mrs. Lovett in Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd.
