Lent may be seen an invitation to dig deeper into one's prayer life. There are many ways to do this. One greatly beautiful and unique ways in which to dig deeper into prayer may be through that of engaging in the ancient practices of praying with beads.

In preparation for this coming lenten season Lawrence House intern Jackson Chamberlain would like to invite you to participate in an upcoming Prayer Bead workshop at All Saints Episcopal Church in which you will have the opportunity to make your own prayer bead set, and be introduced to a format that you may use in writing your own prayer bead prayers.

This workshop will be offered at two different times, with a cap of 10 people per workshop:

SATURDAY, MARCH 1: 10AM - 12PM

SUNDAY, MARCH 2: 11AM - 1PM (after coffee hour)

Sign up on the sheet in the church entryway, or contact the parish office for Beau to sigh you up.
Cost of the workshop will be $20/person.

Note that scholarship is available if this cost may be a barrier to participation. For scholarship inquiry please reach out to The Rev. Tanya Wallace.

“A man with a golden voice who has a great feeling for history, and the role that songs play in documenting that history. The Coming of the Years, by Joe Jencks is a gorgeous record.” ~ Luka Bloom

Joe Jencks sings with a lyric baritone voice that has the edgy richness of a good sea-salt caramel. A 25-year veteran of the international Folk circuit, an award-winning songwriter and celebrated vocalist based in the Chicago area, Joe delivers engaged musical narratives filled with heart, soul, groove, and grit. Jencks has penned several #1 Folksongs including the ever-relevant Lady of The Harbor. Joe is also a dual US-Irish citizen and has served as a Cultural Ambassador with the U.S. State Department.

"The key to the future is people joining in. The music of Joe Jencks captures this essential spirit. Joe is a fantastic singer who carries on the traditions."  ~ Pete Seeger

Our Lenten Lunches tradition is upon us, this year on March 14, March 28, and April 11. In addition to planning on ordering and picking up your delicious lunches on those days, there are ways you can help, too. We are seeking donations of finely chopped celery, brownies with no nuts, shredded lettuce, and napkins for service on those weeks. And we'll also gladly accept financial donations to offset the cost, and help with spreading the word! Order forms and more information coming soon; in the meantime contact Laura Marsh with questions, at l.marsh1250@yahoo.com.
