David Casali is a bassist, educator and performer in the New England area. He received his Bachelors in double bass performance from UMass Amherst in 2012, a Masters in double bass performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in 2015, and completed a music education licensure program at UMass in 2018. David teaches double bass lessons at the University of Massachusetts Amherst as well as elementary music in the Springfield Public Schools at Freedman Elementary School. He has given education talks at the annual MMEA conference and various professional development seminars, focusing on topics ranging from the double bass to music technology in the classroom. He is also an Arts Education Ambassador for the Pioneer Valley/Berkshires, helping to implement the state's new Arts Education Standards. Outside of education he performs with various orchestras and groups in the area, including subbing with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra.
